Show only first VOB file in multiple VOB file set

It would be nice to allow a switch that would allow for only first VOB file to be shown / used to idenify a VOB file set. For instance I have a folder with a movie that has VTS_01_1.vob, VTS_01_2.vob, VTS_01_3.vob, etc. and they are all part of one movie. I only want the first VOB file to be shown but all vob files in the folder to play. Current situation is that either all files are shown creating multiple selections for same movie or If i hide all vob files except first everyting looks o.k. BUT only the first vob file plays - hidden files do not play. I do not want to combine vob files into one big vob file for compatablity reasons. Like for instance you could specifiy a top level folder that would filter only the first vob file found in any sub-folder for selection / metadata.

Moonpie,

You and I seem to share the same problem, too many vob's.
I think it would be easier to support the IFO file, that contains the info on all vob files and tells the player in what sequence they should be played. If the server would read and parse these IFO files, then the rest should follow automatically....at least I think it will...

Re: Show only first VOB file in multiple VOB file set

I found these instructions that were posted but I am unclear on how to only allow the first VOB for display / be used for metadat idnetification. How do I set this up?
Thanks
Joe

Allow only first VOB file in a folder to display / be used for metadat idnetification. If you have a VOB file set i.e. VTS_01_1.vob, VTS_01_02.vob, VTS_01_3.vob, etc. that are all related to one movie only use the first .vob file for display / identificaiton purposes.

Re: Show only first VOB file in multiple VOB file set

You can't do it presently, it's a feature request. Your only chance now is to join the VOBs to 1 (mpeg) file.

See some link about DVD File structure,
By reading/parse IFO file, serviio could build the stream structure (chapters, etc.)

http://dvd.sourceforge.net/dvdinfo/
