Why not serve up wav audio files?

Why not serve up wav audio files?

why not stream wav files?? flac is of course ok, and I use it, and flac is indeed preferred, but why not wav??
Serviio 2.3 in a jail on TrueNAS 13 running on an HP N54L w 5*4 TB spinning rust disks.
The media files are on the same machine.

So... it can be done, and might happen down the line?

That's perfectly fine. I can live with flac only.

I just wondered if there was a tech reason.
