Proposed Mockup of Adding Folder

Hi zip, Serviio is one easy to use programs. Ive recommended many friends, many novice users to use Serviio. Most seem to email me back on how to get started adding folders, what all the icons means. Even i didnt know what the Metadata icon was until after a month.
I propose this mockup. It follows alot principles of ServiioDroid of adding folders. it makes the users know what their ticking all in one swoop. It also allows users to edit the folder and we have it simple format like Online Sources of Add, Edit and Delete.
By having the icons there, the users are aware what the icons means without reading guides and wikis.
This way:
1. Users can quickly enter manually or select folder quickly. Avoids confusion between "Add local.." and "Add path.." buttons
2. Choose Access group before adding to Serviio
3. Media type can be chosen before adding just like Online Sources, even ive forgot to click Video media after adding folder numerous occasions
4. Clearly laid out Metadata and Refresh options so user knows what to check
5. Simple Add and Edit.

Would be grateful if you consider this solution. So would novice users i know who just want to get started watching their content after installing Serviio. :)

Looks ok. Create a ticket and we can take it from there.

Thanks zip, done - https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... lder-share

The other thing is some of my machines running Serviio, I just use Online Sources, no local sharing, this has become my most used function for Serviio.
Ive also have some friends who didnt even know where to locate Online Sources at the start.

Is it possible to make Online Sources a separate main tab so its quick access and easy to locate for anyone.

Not sure, there is already not enough space for more tabs on the other OSes.

Hmm.. Possibly merge two tabs in one, Console settings tab possibly used once
Or make the console bigger to accommodate Online Sources it's own tab

Do think Online Sources deserves its own main tab :)
