List of Internet Radio Stations

List of Internet Radio stations to add to the Serviio/Library/Online Sources category. The attached file can be downloaded and imported using the import facility on that Serviio page. The process takes only seconds. (if you have other Online Sources suggest you export them to backup first).

*** This list is produced and maintained by users not by Serviio *** *** IF ANY OWNER WANTS STATIONS REMOVED - PLEASE POST ON THIS THREAD. ***

*** PLEASE REPORT ANY STATIONS THAT ARE NOT WORKING ***

NOTE: File is only compatible with Serviio V2.x.

Re: 104 Internet Radio working streams for Serviio

I gave it a try. List imported perfectly, and I then removed all of the UK Only sites. I tried about a half dozen of them with no issues. I have to say the audio wasn't all that impressive, but then I was using my Sharp TV and it's audio isn't all that earth shattering, either. :D

Nice work getting them all set up and functional. You've saved others from a lot of work. Now I just wish I could move the listings more easily. I'd love to bump all of the rock channels up to the top, but the console only lets you move one line at a time, one step up or down at a time. I guess I could export the list, do some quick copy and paste in the file, and then reload them again.

Nice work! :D

I found the sound quality playing through my hi-fi very impressive - much better than I had expected as my local music library is flac based (i.e. cd quality and some hi-res).

You have identified the issues with the Online sources especially if you have a significant number of entries.
I have been moving items around all week.
There was a request on the forum about four years ago for breaking the online sources down by category/genres. I think it needs to be re-visited.
It also gets more problematic/awkward if you want to update the list.

Did any of the [UK only?] items work?
(P.S. Cutting and pasting might not work as the items have an export number and might re-load back into that original order.)

Re: 104 Internet Radio working streams for Serviio

I didn't try any of the ones you labeled UK Only. But I did leave in some that said UK, and the few I tried did work.

I just looked again, and I did leave in one that you labeled UK Only (Classical - Classic FM (aacPlus) [UK only?]) and it worked for me. But that's the only one I kept. Now I may need to try some of the others. :D

Sure would be nice if we had song titles and other metadata, but the streams must not contain them.

Re: 104 Internet Radio working streams for Serviio

Hey PaulC.

Thanks for the great streams! Good work. I had a bit of problem with my library as per http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21457 all audio streams weren't working after the 1.9.1 upgrade. Must have become corrupt. So I had to rebuild my library from scratch which wasnt fun.

Thanks for the effort!

Glad you found it useful.

Did you have any issues (in the country you are in) with any of the stations ?
Also did the various mp3 and aac streams play OK ?

Do you have any Internet Radio stations to add ?

Dan
Surprisingly I think the streams do contain artist/track info.
Many of the radio apps display the playlist info when playing the track and they get the same stream we use.

Do any internet radios display anything more than the Internet Radio channel ? (will have to do a reccie).

I don't think it is a Serviio issue but each player/renderer software needs to recognise and use the info.
Getting every TV and piece of equipment to amend their software would be impossible !

Would like zip's insight/confirmation/views on this.

P.S. Have you got your Online Sources "Preferred online content quality" setting on high ? I have a query on these settings at viewtopic.php?f=42&t=24364#p116707
UPDATE - this setting is only relevant to Serviio MediaBrowser.

I live in the UK. So everything worked fine for me. Only streams I could add would be some specialist motorsport streams from Radio Le Mans. If interested let me know. Thanks

Norm
Have added some Sport channels including Radio Le Mans. see latest file at http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php? ... 31#p116776
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra only broadcasts live periodically I think - you need to look at their schedule.
If you have more please send them.

Unfortunately best way to add new file is to individually delete all your entries from earlier file. A total pain I know at present.

I Have posted some issues/problems regarding Export and Import based upon my recent experience at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24390
Some changes may be required for the next version of Serviio, also changes to category/genres and separation of audio, images and video sources.

Rebuilding without backups is not fun.
Although upgrade retains the data in the Online Sources if there is a problem you need a backup.
It is important to back up Online Sources (by exporting) and importantly keep the backup file(s) in a folder OUTSIDE Serviio.
Either Serviio upgrade or re-install or both overwrite the files/directories in Serviio directory so I lost so backups.

Re: 221 Internet Radio station streams working

In the descriptions for the Internet Radio stations I have previously included information about the technical standards e.g. mp3, aac, aac+ and bitrate to help in diagnosing any playing issues.
I have not seen any such issues arise.

From version 14 the descriptors will be amended to remove this information, unless I receive any contrary comment.
This will enable us to "concentrate on the content" and not on technical issues.

Nice work! :D

Dan,
On both my BubbleUPnP control app and on Serviio MediaBrowser there is a search facility so if you enter "rock", "jazz" or "classical" you get the streams you want.
You might find

There is a bug at present on MediaBrowser (BubbleUPnP is fine so points to MediaBrowser issue rather than Serviio server) which seems to only report the first 12 but have flagged it to get it fixed - see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24435

Dan,
What facilities does your Roku have to search and is that the control app you use?
I use BubbleUPnP that is excellent.

For local media the Roku has no search ability. Some of the newer boxes have a voice search but it only works with channels (apps) that are designed for it. Roku Media Player isn't one of them. Some channels like Amazon, Netflix and YouTube have text based search functionality.

I don't have a roku but cant you use android phone with serviigo? That's what I use for chromecast and it works fine.

Great list @Paul C.

I haven't tried it yet but appreciate the effort.

There is a radio I used to listen to that definitely has song and artist metadata. I used to have a script that downloaded each song to mp3 and labeled it based on parsing this data so I know it works. Here's the stream, they play an eclectic mix of hippy stuff:

http://www.guerrillaradio.com/

The script used foobar and was called Streamripper, idk if still maintained.

Yes, with an Android phone you should be able to use Serviigo and then cast to a Roku, TV or AVR. I did some casting with an S8 to a Roku Ultra and a Roku TV with no issues. iPhones can only cast to a Roku with a clunky app that often doesn't work.
