server not refreshing

ahhhh

when i add a new file to my computer if the server is already running, it wont refresh it to the ps3, or if it does it gives 8 mins of the movie file.

also mkvs dont recognise on my ps3 either i have to use txmuxer to change the container to m2ts.. so when i do this, and the new file is there, it wont appear in the folder list. or if it does it gives only 8 mins of the video file. ive tried refreshing serviio, force refresh, starting and stopping, closing it down reopening it, tried everything.. it is the most frustrating thing ever

Per mkv not listing on your ps3, in Serviio console is the client listed as PlayStation 3 or something else?

there are a few things listed.. a few ps3 and a few unrecognised device generic profile...

just added another file, and its listed as 26 mins WTF, its not 26 mins so why doesnt it refresh !!! ? ?!@?!?!?!

You might want to set your PS3 to a fixed IP addresss so your router doesn't keep reallocating devices. Then clear down the list in serviio console of devices and make sure the IP address you set for your PS3 is on the PS3 profile.

Are you running Windows ? Are you on the latest version of Serviio ?

On serviio console what time have you set the library refresh too ?

updated serviio , seems to be running the mkvs'.. cant fast forward them and they dont run subtitles...

but the server is refreshing now and the mkvs are playing.. so was obv some kind of previous version problem...

still doesnt refresh properly. so annoying. i create a file or move a folder or file or something to a directory. and it wont just appear when i go to run it on the ps3. i have to try so many combinations of restarting the application, clicking refresh, force refresh, etc etc, click absolutely everything. then often it comes up but will show like 32 minutes of the movie.. so it hasnt fully refreshed or updated. WHY DOESNT IT JUST AUTO REFRESH AUTO UPDATE SERIOUSLY. is ret4rded and incredibly frustrating

what is the problem here.. i add a new file to a folder, i force refresh, restart the server, restart my computer and the file still wont appear.. so clearly the auto refresh option doesnt actually work.. this is incredibly frustrating as basically it doesnt allow to watch a newly added file. i have to wait some arbitrary time when the serviio decides it wants to refresh the server. WTF ?!!!!!

You don't have to restart anything, Serviio checks for new files every 5 minutes (by default) or when forced by clicking the Force refresh button. Instead of being rude you might want to provide some details

it doesnt auto refresh. like it is listed as doing. you have to click every option, restart the server, etc etc before the file will appear. no details required.. thats a software problem.

eventually after refreshing , starting the server and stopping again, force refreshing repeat and rinse over and over again it will eventually work. why it doesnt actually auto refresh is the mystery im asking about..

and sorry forbeing rude, but what im saying is extremely frustrating and a problem with the software... so......

Do not restart anything, just click Force refresh

obv that is what i try, surely everyone else has this problem,.. its not settings,.. it doesnt force refresh it. you have to wait the five minutes and/or restart the server and click everything and wait till it does it on its own accord,.. its not the settings or logs... this is obv a problem with the software, it doesnt force refresh, the server has to wait till it does it itself after the 5 minutes

ye right, so when ibrary automatically updated is ticked and you add a file to ur server you just go to the player and its on the server.... come on...
and/or clicking force library refresh

It's designed to check every x minutes (5 by default) for new files. So there is this delay after you add a new file and before it appears on the device.

Force refresh should work though, that's why you should check the log to see if the file has been added and when. You can also check the status button to confirm it's been added.

I will add that this happens to me every so often. A particular file or two just won't show up on Serviio. No matter how many times I refresh the server, it's not there. I normally just switch over to PlayOn where the file is visible and just play it there. It's a pain, but I just give up trying to find the cause. Obviously there is some reason for it, but when you are sitting there ready to watch a movie, I don't want to start troubleshooting why it's not showing up.

Here's the MediaInfo of an example of a file I tried to open yesterday. The file was not "seen" by Serviio. Does any one see a reason why it's not visible? I tried "Force Refresh" and it still didn't show up. Thanks.
