Cannot access the server

Hi,

I'm a big fan of Serviio and have put it to good use so far. However, I constantly have a problem with my TV not being able to find the server. All the serviio icons are greyed out on my TV and when I click one I get, "Cannot access the server" after waiting a little while. When it's working, I know it's meant to be yellow, but the majority of the time it's greyed out. It seems like only a multiple reseting of the computer seems to sort this out - literally have to keep restarting my computer until it becomes yellow and works again.

What I'm using:

- MacBook Pro
- Sony Bravia TV

Everything's wireless. The Serviio console on my MacBook recognises the Sony Bravia TV. But, like I say, it seems to be so sporadic in one it shows as yellow on my TV.

Surely there's something I can do to make Serviio more stable? I've tried all the usual things like changing he "Bound IP address" to be whatever my MacBook is connecting to.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Re: Cannot access the server

Set static IP addresses to your TV and the Mac.

Thanks for the reply, but how would I do this?

Any tutorials?

Thanks,

Re: Cannot access the server

I have this symptom with a BT homehub, a 2010 Bravia and Serviio 1.2.1.

I've set the PC and TV to static addresses, but the thing I do to get it visible again is to restart the serviio service, rather than restarting the whole machine.

Re: Cannot access the server

It doesn't seem to be, the console shows it's running, as does the serviidroid app on my phone.

Re: Cannot access the server

I have been having the same issue since upgrading Serviio to the latest. After awhile it just goes away. I was restarting my computer and it would pop right back up again.

Re: Cannot access the server

I checked my logs, did a search and turns out it's exactly this issue, which you've already got in hand :)
