4k videos don't stream

I had the same issue in v1.5.2 initially, but after a few months 4k SUDDENLY started streaming (I don't think I changed anything in serviio settings). Now I updated to v1.6 and they're not streaming again :(

There's nothing related to the issue in the log...

ok I lied a bit :) back then I created a new profile for Samsung J series with all transcoding options removed. Just did the same to existing J profile and 4k started streaming.

in my serviio settings transcoding is disabled, so probably that's why 4k didn't play: profile required such videos to be transcoded but transcoding was unavailable.

But there are a handful of files that still require transcoding. Unless absolutely none of your files fit that, I wouldn't strip all transcoding out. For example, do any of your files contain HD audio? The TV can't handle them.

Of course, the Tizen OS that Samsung uses now seems to have issues with transcoding anyway, so it may be a moot point.

true, HD audio doesn't work (such audio tracks aren't listed at all). Thanks for the hint. But I never select such audio tracks anyway.

With my JU7100, if the primary audio track is HD, the TV reports it as unplayable, and doesn't allow me to select a different audio track. Since I have some files that way, I have to leave transcoding on, although the files are only transmuxed with new audio without touching the video.

Re: 4k videos don't stream

You could also change the order of the audio tracks so that a supported one is the first track. Changing the order of tracks (using MKVMerge or other tools) is a non-destructive (no reduction in quality) process.

This way you can avoid transcoding/remuxing while still having the option to switch audio tracks if required.

Re: 4k videos don't stream

Hi I got a similar problem here...
My TV SAMSUNG (a KU6300) see the media server perfectly but some 4K movies are not able to playe it but I have another media server running in the same machine (TVVersity) and it can play them.

The rare here is that Serviio can play only some 4K files like TVVersity as well... so is kind of waste of resource to have both of them running at the same time because you never know when you will need one or the another.

Is there any way to make Serviio stream all 4K videos formats? I prefer it.

One clue.... Serviio do not have a profile for this TV serial....is maybe that the problem?
Sorry for my bad english ;)
