How to troubleshoot online subtitles?

Is there a way to enable logging for this? Or to see what name the online subtitles is searching for?

I'm having an issue where sometimes I get no online subtitles at all. Even though the files in question have boxart and whatnot.

Sometime I just have to stop the movie and go back in and it will work but sometimes it never plays.

Re: How to troubleshoot online subtitles?

First time you browse it tries to download them. If found it will store them in a cache so next time they are just there. This takes a few seconds so the first time the subtitle might not be there yet.

Also, not always is a sub found. There needs to be a match of fps between your file and an available sub.

Re: How to troubleshoot online subtitles?

Hello,

I have troubles with downloading subtitles. I noticed that Serviio will download only one subtitle from online source and than i need to restart Serviio service to make it work on another video file. This is what i get in logs:
2018-05-22 07:41:34,200 WARN [OpenSubtitlesCacheDecorator] Could not store object to subtitles cache (subtitles): Value must not be null
2018-05-22 07:41:34,200 WARN [ResourceDeliveryProcessor] Error while processing resource, sending back 404 error. Message: Error retrieving the subtitles file size: Could not create temporary subtitles file C:\Windows\TEMP\Serviio\opensubtitles_1954205050.srt
2018-05-22 07:41:34,290 WARN [OpenSubtitlesClient] Error downloading subtitle file: Server returned error: 401 Unauthorized
de.timroes.axmlrpc.XMLRPCException: Server returned error: 401 Unauthorized

It's pretty anoying to restart Serviio service every time I want to play some video file, can we do something about it?

Re: How to troubleshoot online subtitles?

Hi, is there any update on this issue? I experience exactly the same behaviour - running 1.9.2 in Freenas 11.1-U4 jail. Tried both with and without authorization on opensubtitles.org. Both work on first folder browse, then does not work until Serviio process restart.

Re: How to troubleshoot online subtitles?

Serviio will use a different API in 1.10 so give that a try then. You could event try the beta, once it's available, if you want to help testing
