[Solved?] roku no audio from ts file?

Let me know if protocol would be to just delete this. Otherwise, I wanted to give an update to what seems to be going on in case this helps anybody else.
I'd also love to hear from anybody who can give me some education on why this works the way it does.

Looks like this has to do with how the sound is being passed from the Roku to my particular TV.
Roku is connected to TV via HDMI
Roku had been set to
Settings -> Audio -> Audio Mode = Auto (versus Stereo)
Settings -> Audio -> HDMI = Auto Detect

Never had cause to make any changes to it until setting up Serviio to transcode the TS files for me (which do not play natively on this Roku)

After playing around, I found things work just fine if I change the Roku Audio settings to:
Settings -> Audio -> Audio Mode = Auto (versus Stereo)
Settings -> Audio -> HDMI = Dolby D (versus Stereo or a number of other choices)

Now both the TS recordings and the Live Stream direct from the HDHomeRun tuner are working just fine both Video and Audio.

Hope this helps... else apologies for taking up space in the forum.

Hi folks,

I'm trying to use Serviio to transcode ts recordings from a Silicon Dust HDHomeRun for playback via the Roku Media Player app. The video is working just fine using the Roku Media Player profile, but there is no audio coming through. Here is ffmpeg info for an example file:

Input #0, mpegts, from 'c:\...\tv\American Horror Story 6\American Horror Story 6_20161026_22002300.ts':
Duration: 01:02:58.45, start: 33470.213744, bitrate: 9140 kb/s
Program 13
Stream #0:0[0x515]: Video: mpeg2video (Main) ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), yuv420p(tv), 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], Closed Captions, max. 8700 kb/s, 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 90k tbn, 119.88 tbc
Stream #0:1[0x516](eng): Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s
Stream #0:2[0x517](spa): Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 224 kb/s

Also trying the same (with the same results) with a Live Stream straight from the HDHomeRun tuner's http interface (different channel/program). Here is ffmpeg info from the live feed:

Input #0, mpegts, from 'http://192.168.1.105:5004/auto/v1265':
Duration: N/A, start: 20760.731611, bitrate: N/A
Program 1063
Stream #0:0[0x1f41]: Video: mpeg2video (Main) ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), yuv420p(tv), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], Closed Captions, max. 24000 kb/s, 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc
Stream #0:1[0x1f42](eng): Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 384 kb/s
Stream #0:2[0x1f43]: Unknown: none ([134][0][0][0] / 0x0086)

Anyone have any suggestions on how to modify the Roku profile to get sound for these? Any other info I can provide to help sort this?

Thanks in advance for any help,
rjb
