Recently applied an update to Fire Fox (version 52.0.1) and now receiving a warning on the password field in Media Browser.

Not sure if this is an issue, but a workaround is available for those so inclined.

Attach 1 is screen shot of warning, Attach 2 is screen shot of the field in "about:config" (Configuration tool for Firefox). Just right click the field and "toggle" the value to false.

You must be using the https URL (using port 23534 instead of 23424) to reach the browser. I get a similar error with Chrome. If I recall, Zip is working on providing an acceptable certificate with a future update. Either that, or my memory is getting old, like I am :)

But I do seem to recall this is a known issue. Since you know the site you are connecting to (it's your own computer), it is safe to ignore the warning and continue to the site.

Using 23424 got tired of the certificate prompts on my own systems. Deal with that at a later time.

Note that I use Fire Fox for numerous appliances because it has always provided the best performance/compatibility (Fortigate, various surveillance cameras, etc.) The Update 52 really stepped up security. So much so that many vendors are directing end users to run the ESR (Extended Support Release) on Windows 10 which will continue to support the security schema of version 51 and previous (at least for the next year).

Not sure, but it appears that the browsers are starting to force the use of "modern" browser technology.

If you would need the Fire Fox ESR just google for a download. If running Win 10 be sure to use the 32-bit version only. Install over the existing and by all means do not clear history, cookies, plugins prior to running the installation package.

I think you can ignore it. Serviio doesn't post the password, it instead uses it to generate a security token for authentication.
