Very Slow DLNA/UPnP Discovery

I am running Serviio on Ubuntu Server 16.04.3. The software runs fine, except that it takes a very, very long time for devices on my network to discover the DLNA/UPnP server. After starting the Serviio service, it takes several hours for any of my devices to see the server - if at all. This includes BubbleUPnP on my Nexus 6P (Android Nougat) and my Windows 10 laptop. Any idea how to troubleshoot this? I haven't seen anything amiss in the logs. (NB: I had Serviio installed on a Windows machine on the same network and other devices would see the server as soon as it came up.) Thanks!

Hi, it seems network related.... :?: (Something around multicast traffic/FW)

Try:
- Disable, as a test, ubuntu firewall
- Disable IGMP Snooping in your firewall
- Set BubbleUPnP as a server and chek if you can see it without problems on TV.

Regards,
L .

I've been noticing something similar where after a while of being idle, even with the app in the systray, my tv will not "see" the server anymore.....if I use the console under status and shut down the server and then restart it immediately, the tv suddenly finds it.......but equal to your issue, even if the server is "active" it seems to have to be kicked in the ass for it to work right again.

I have all the options disabled as mentioned, and fixed on kitchen tv, but hasn't solved the can find server thing like the original poster mentions.

Sure...

Have you tried disabling the firewall on the server where serviio is installed :?: (as a test)

UPnP advertisements could be the problem....
