node.dll update?

I've had Serviio running on v1.5.2 for ages and after the last Windows "version update" which reset the bound NIC I decided to update to 1.9.

I also run Secunia and it shows that node.dll is out of date. The installer came with 7.4.0 and the current version 7 is 7.10.1. Version 8 is up to 8.6.0. Is there an updated dll available...?

I've been to the Nodes.js site but can't find a node.dll replacement there in the various builds. I am reluctant to just download a node.dll from a random dll site.

The console doesn't run without it, which isn't a big problem as I don't use the console often. I can rename the dll until I need the console, but it's just something else to remember.

It's provided by the web wrapper framework for the console. Not something I provide. Perhaps it'll be updated when I update the console build tools. I'd doubt though that it's a problem.

Thanks Zip.

I did a search which mentioned that installing without the console and using a localhost URL provide the same function. Can I re-run the install to remove the console or is it an uninstall/reinstall.? If the latter is there a config backup I can do..?

Is it possible to remotely access the console? By browsing to http://<my machine>:23423 from another machine, or is it only possible from localhost?

I think running the installer should work.

yes, remotely is possible.

Quite right, it did.

The start menu shortcut is still there but opens the web console instead. A quick convert of the Serviio logo into an icon to restore a familiar look and you'd never know the difference...!

Thanks again Zip, much appreciated.
