Transcoded file

How long do transcoded files persist. Is it until the server is restarted?
If the files were deleted prior to a restart would that cause any problems? For example if I played a video via Mediabrowser that required transcoding and then sometime later (prior to a server restart) played the same video again would serviio know the transcoded files already exist and not perform another transcode operation?

And if the files were deleted prior to playing again would serviio just perform a second transcode?

Re: Transcoded file

I believe they are there until a new transcoding request is made by the same player. If a second player asked for the same video, I believe it would be transcoded a second time. If I'm in error, Zip will chime in and correct me. I honestly almost never look at my transcoding folder, so am not completely certain.

Re: Transcoded file

yes, either a new transcode job by the same client (and no other client accessing the original file), or on server restart.
