Music Library Question

I'm running Serviio Pro v1.9 on a Windows 10 Home edition system (all latest updates applied). I've used Mediabrowser for a few years now streaming video files and viewing photographs but never tried using it for streaming music.
I've seen elsewhere on the forum that there is an issue with v1.9 and some music files and I'm wondering if what I am seeing is related.

On the Serviio console in the Library | Shared Folders Page I clicked on add point to the folder that contains all of the music files and click Save. I repeated that process for another folder that contains a set of .m3u playlists. It appeared that all the music files were added to the library as it shows the number of files that were added on the Welcome to Serviio page of the console.

However when I log into Mediabrowser I only see top level folders for Video and Image - there is nothing there for Music. Have I set things up incorrectly? Windows Permissions on the Music folders are set the same way as the Video and Photos folders.

If the imported playlists contain entries for music tracks that are not part of the music files imported into the Serviio library would that cause the behaviour I'm seeing? If not what would the expected behaviour be in that case?

Happy New Year
Mike

Do you have the music category enabled on the Presentation tab on the console? I know it's enabled by default when Serviio is installed, but if you weren't using it before you might have disabled it. That's the way mine is set up.

Boy do I feel stupid. That was it.
Will play around with it over the next day or two and see if I can get it to work.
Can someone remind me exactly what the issue is with v1.9 and music files.

Finally got a chance to play with it but I don't think it will do what I need.

I have a music library of approximately 40K tracks. I have created a number of playlists (have the m3u files) that use about 5% of those tracks. It would seem that I would have to add the entire music library into Serviio before I could access the playlists remotely.

Can anyone suggest an alternative approach?

Played with this a little more and was able to extract a subset of my iTunes music library into a separate folder structure which I was then able to import into the Serviio library.

Unfortunately I hit another snag. I have about 250 playlists in my iTunes library arranged in folders and sub folders. I wrote a script to export the playlists creating a hierarchical set of folders with m3u p files in the appropriate folders. I then imported the top level folder into Serviio. Unlike importing video and image files Serviio does not maintain a folder structure instead it picks up every m3u file and create a flat list which it displays in alphabetical order.

Zip - any particular reason why it does it that way?
