Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

I'm using Chrome as my main browser of choice, I can't seem to figure out why the remember me option doesn't work. I check it, view a few things, close the browser come back in say.......10 minutes, I have to login again.......isn't remember me supposed to maintain a cookie or something so I don't have to keep logging back in?

I've cleaned cache etc etc... it just never seems to retain.

Thoughts?

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

Mine works fine with Chrome on multiple computers. I'm not totally familiar with all of the Chrome settings, but I would expect that something has been set to either not retain cookies from MediaBrowser or sites in general.

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

Some browsers have a setting to erase all cookies after you close it so it starts fresh every time. I don't use Chrome so not sure where to look but I know Firefox has the setting. Good luck.

As of today, still having the same issue. I assume it is cookie based?

Anyone have any other thoughts?

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

Yes, it uses cookies to keep you logged in. I have no issues with Chrome, Edge or IE. In Chrome, I did find a setting in the Advanced/Security/Content Settings/cookies, where cookies can be deleted when closing the browser. It's labeled "Keep local data only until you quit your browser". Mine is turned off. Perhaps yours is on.

Yeah, that is strange. I've run out of suggestions. Not sure if any of your extensions have the ability to whitelist sites, but if you can find that you might add it there.

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

in firefox erasing profile starts fresh.

If you run at bash or cmd

firefox -P

it brings up a gui dialog with your profile, hit delete, it erases everything.

Then create new profile and start.

If that doesn't work, gasoline on the laptop, couch, whole house, burn it all, we'll regroup in Belize!

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

idk, chrome gives me lots of random problems like you mentioned.

If you don't like firefox use just about any other browser, I am sure problem go bye bye.

I don't use windows but the files are in a folder for your profile each os and browser.

But then you have to make a new one which I don't know how to do in chrome because i never use it.

This conversation though:

You: My crappy browser doesn't work because it's crappy

Me: So use one that works.

You: But I want to force this one to work!

It is a good point, but since my entire toolchains, life, passwords and extensions all use that browser, to try and "convert" just doesn't makes sense ........does it?

Do you go out and buy a new house because the bedroom door doesn't close properly? Chances are you find a way to fix it.......and then move on.

Re: Mediabrowser Login "Remember Me"

Lol can't relate, don't know what you mean by toolchains, your life is in chrome browser lol?

I don't use browser extensions and remember all my passwords or use keepass.

If the bathroom door was closing on part of my body making the house and living there untenable than yes I would leave.
