English strings not showing up on Linux (Mint 18.2)

I just upgraded a Serviio instance from 1.7.1.1 to 1.9, and some of the strings that are supposed to be English are showing up as the resource keys, i.e., "{'tab_status_connected_devices' | translate}}". Is there something I'm missing here? Media is being served successfully, it's just the console that's not showing the correct text.
