Empty folders appear on "limited access" devices

Hi,

I'm having a Parental Control setup where I have "grown-ups" and "kids" movies and music. The TV for example is "limited access". The problem is that in the categories there are a lot of empty folders with the names of "grown-ups" movies and series, where the "kids" movies and series are getting lost within. For example, the "Series" category has a lot of empty folders like "X-Files" and "Star Trek" (which are only for "full access" devices) with the few non-empty folders for the kids series in between. Genres, Actors, Directors, and so on have a lot of empty folders as well, but my main concern is the "series" folder as that is what the kid is using to find his movies.

This is not OK. This is not only a convenience but also a privacy issue.

Am I doing something wrong? The folders are completely separated and as far as I can tell shared accordingly. I have a "Children's" folder with the "limited access" group selected and pretty much everything else in "full access" only.

How can I make the empty folders disappear on the limited access devices?

Thanks,

Fozi

Maybe its how the files are named?

The series category is based on the metadata in the files and the filenames themselves. Maybe get rid of it on the presentation pane in the console until you have your names and metadata sorted?

Maybe I did not explain it properly, the problem is not that the files appear. The files exist, are named properly and on devices with "unlimited access" they should and do appear, but on devices with "limited access" they should not.

The expected state is that on "limited access" devices neither the files nor the folders they are in should appear, but right now while the files don't appear, their containing folders show up (empty).

Or in more technical terms: The metadata that is presented to "limited access" devices should not include the metadata gathered from shares that are not in the "limited access" group.

Or as a workaround: If a (category) folder is empty, don't show it.
