Connecting Issue

I just upgraded to pro thinking that would help with my issues but no change. I have an older Sony Bravia non-smart TV. I have been using my Sony DVD BDPS 5100 unit to stream Serviio to my TV. I have all my movies loaded on a server and have the serviio program on that same server. I also have the server wired directly to my DVD player and the DVD connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. I intermittently lose the serviio server from my TV, it loses the Yellow color and it's just the ghost. I go through all the TV settings, network, Internet and everything says it's connected but it's no longer yellow. On my server when I pull up the serviio console I see the Sony DVD player listed but it has a question mark on the left side. All the kids' Xbox players work fine and all have the circle to the left of them on the Serviio. I have shut down the server started it back up and still no good. I have also rebooted the server on numerous occasions.
This is extremely frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Connecting Issue

If other devices are seeing Serviio without issue, then the problem unfortunately is something on your network. Perhaps the network cable on the Sony player has been damaged. Or perhaps the network switch between the server and the Sony has a problem. But if Serviio is working on other devices on your network, then there's no Serviio problem. And Pro would not provide any function that would solve your problem.

Re: Connecting Issue

No, I have 2 of these same units, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs, same issues with both.
They can stay connected for months, then they will disconnect. When ever the server updates itself I also lose connections to these 2 units only. There has to be another issue.

Re: Connecting Issue

Again, if you have some devices that see Serviio, and others don't, that seems to indicate that Serviio is functioning correctly. It can't pick and choose what devices can see it.

Now, let's do some network troubleshooting. I have a very similar Sony BD player to yours. First thing is of course to check it's network connection. Not only for connectivity, but a properly assigned IP address, which means in the same address range.

If you have a spare Ethernet cable, try swapping it out. Does the Sony have other apps, like YouTube? If so, do they work?
