Serviio update on Linux

I'm really quite good with Windows, but my Linux experience is close to two decades old. So, I've been playing around with a Linux Mint distro. I've installed Serviio 1.9.1 on it with no issues, but I'm at a loss on how to do an upgrade installation. If I simply unpack the GZ file, I have a new folder with a different name, so I'd have to make changes to the startup script and reconfigure my library. There must be a better way. With Windows, you just run setup and it updates the existing install. I can't find any script that looks like an install.

I know there are Linux users out there that must have done this before. You don't really treat each update as a brand new installation, do you?

You don't have to reconfigure your library, you can copy the contents of the plugin folder and the library folder from the older version to the respective folders in the new version.

Thanks JK. Zip, that's the one place on the website I didn't look at. I thought I had checked everywhere. Thanks! :D

Re: Serviio update on Linux

Hello,

Currently I'm running Serviio 2.0 on Ubuntu 18.04.
I want to upgrade to Serviio 2.1 version but keeping all the users and configurations in place from 2.0.

Kindly asking for your advice how can I upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1 while keeping the user data and config.

Thanks
Saulius
