Version 2 pauses and starts videos

Hi All, I don't know where else to look for a solution to this issue.

V2 is pausing and continuing about every 10 to 30 seconds. This is happening on all my devices (Roku, PC, etc). The video plays for about 10 seconds, pauses and continues. On a PC the mediabrowser just pauses but on Roku it displays a "loading" message and then continues. Sometimes it will play for several minutes before pausing. There are no error messages in the serviio log. There IS a message saying it's playing the video. There's tons of free disk space. I have transcoding unchecked for the record. Also, I'm running serviio on a RPi 2 with no overclocking. CPU wise, the box is not running high CPU on any process. FFMPEG is the latest version. The video files are on a USB drive connected to the RPi so it's not a slow network issue, and the network is a gigabit net.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, that's odd. Since it's affected all players, it sure sounds like a network issue. As a test, can you use MediaBrowser on the Serviio PC itself? I think you're running it on a Raspberry, but does it have a GUI so you can try that? I know that some don't run a desktop.

Re: Version 2 pauses and starts videos

That was an excellent idea. My RPi does have a gui so yes I tried it. Same thing...about every 10 seconds it pauses (freezes) and then resumes playing.

I should mention that after 6 or so pauses it plays for approx 1/2 hour then pauses again 4 or 5 times and then plays for about 1/2 hour

One more thing...it ALWAYS pauses at 10 seconds and 20 seconds...then sometimes 30 or 35 or 40, etc

Re: Version 2 pauses and starts videos

Is there any config info I can provide that would help find a solution to this issue? There aren't any messages in the serviio log that shows any kind of error occuring

You might try enabling detailed logging, and then post the log here. But this is something the developer (Zip) will have to look at. It's beyond my abilities. :D
