Re: about the 1.10 version

Can you be more specific about what isn't working? What operating system (Mac, Windows, Linux)?

Good evening.Yes it tells me that it can not install items and asks me to either continue ignoring or giving up error and if I continue or ignore it does not work. I am under windows 10. I was wondering if by reinstalling the previous version (the one that worked) it would work. Thank you for taking care of my case is nice.

Re: about the 1.10 version

OK, let's try a slightly different install method. Right-click on the install file and select "Run as Administrator". Accept the warning message that appears, and then see if Serviio installs correctly.

I've never had to do it this way, but if you're encountering permissions issues when installing this might resolve it.

So I installed with the run as administrator and it installed itself apparently apparently only apparently because by launching the program I have this message "can not connect to the server it doen't thing to be running running" it speaks to you?

Re: about the 1.10 version

Now we need to see your log, to see if there's an error reported. If Serviio truly can't start, the log should tell us why. You can find the log in C:\Program Files\Serviio\Log. We don't need the Derby log, just the Serviio log.

Re: about the 1.10 version

You should be able to zip/rar the file quite small. I would be shocked if you couldn't attach a normal zipped log. What is the size before and after compressing the file?

I can't open it on this computer, but I can from home tonight. We'll see what it has to say, unless someone else looks at it first.

Re: about the 1.10 version

All right, have it open. It is incomplete, as it doesn't contain the initial startup of the server. However, there is something that I think might point into the correct direction. It appears that for some reason Serviio is attempting to use an IP address that isn't available. The first error is:

2018-01-04 19:03:54,294 WARN [MultiCastUtils] Host IP address 192.168.1.28 is not available, will try again 9 times

It then counts down the 9 attempts. After that, it returns this:

2018-01-04 19:04:40,608 WARN [LocalAddressResolverStrategy] Haven't found any suitable local IP address, will try again 9 times

That one also counts down the 9 attempts. The final message:

2018-01-04 19:05:27,566 INFO [Device] Updated bound IP address of Device with UUID: 12486d15-079e-3f2f-932c-6be88964d93a, bound address: 127.0.0.1

So, Serviio is running fine, but can't seem to find a usable network connection on your computer. So, you should be able to connect to the console from the Serviio computer using this URL: http://localhost:23423/console. Once you can get into the console, you can go to the bottom of the Status page and see what it shows in the Network Settings box. It is a dropdown box if you click it, and it will show all discovered network connections on the computer. There is also an Auto Detect setting. See if you can find the correct network card for your home network.

If you can't get into the console, then I'm at a loss on how to help. By the way, does your computer have more than one network card? Say both a wired and wireless card? Just trying to figure out why it can't find a network connection to use.

yes 2 network card I think to see but I do not know enough to be sure. Me what is questioning me is why on this version there while with the previous version it worked very well. This in my opinion is the real question because I did not change anything on the PC and that's what I ask question.
I am not on my home network I will try the address that you mention once at home but I confess not to understand too where I must enter this address http: // localhost: 23423 / console.

Re: about the 1.10 version

Sorry, http://localhost:23423/console is what you type into a web browser to access the Serviio console. This particular address will only work on the Serviio computer itself. Until you can get Serviio talking to the correct network card, you won't be able to access the console from any other computer on your network.

there is a connection error when I enter the link in the browser search. I think the problem is insolvent. Do not you think that providing me the link to download the previous version would not be easier in the end? hoping you keep the old versions.

Re: about the 1.10 version

Yes, ZIp has past installs still available. There's no way to browse for them. You have to edit the download URL with the version you desire. For example, the current download link is http://download.serviio.org/releases/se ... -setup.exe. Change the 1.10 to the version you want. The previous version would be 1.9.2.

Yes! I found the earlier version downloaded and installed and it works fine. I will wait for the version above 1.10 this time. Thank you for your investment and time spent trying to help me. Maybe at another time Dan. Have a good day.
