AV1 codec not recognised

If I copy a video file encoded using AV1 to my Serviio library, it doesn't show up, and the following line appears in serviio.log:
  Code:
2023-12-21T19:14:19,566 WARN  [MetadataExtractionCoordinator] Skipping processing metadata for an unsupported file (/library/Video/Test_AV1.mkv). Message: Unknown video codec.

Serviio 2.3 on a Raspberry Pi 4 running Debian Bookworm arm64. ffmpeg is version 5.1.4.

I found a forum thread from about 18 months ago indicating that AV1 was not supported at that time (https://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30244). Does anyone know if any progress has been made on support since then?

Re: AV1 codec not recognised

According to the Bitbucket site for Serviio (where the developer maintains a list of bug and enhancement requests) I see he has marked it as resolved with version 2.4. What I don't know is when 2.4 will be released. It's been slightly over a year since 2.3 was released, and he does tend to be about a year between significant update releases. So it hopefully occurs not too much longer. He typically released beta versions a couple of months before they are released, and so far there has been no beta builds for 2.4.
