Serviio not starting

Hello

Kinda new at this

Serviio is installed and has been working before.

However, it stopped working, så I tried to remove it and re-install it.

This lead to:
Clicking on Serviio Console gives a short period "hourglass" time. Nothing else happens.
Serviio is set to open when windows starts, but doesn't.
Serviio is under "exceptions" in windows firewall.
Serviio isn't seen when "Ctrl+alt+delete" to check job-list.

I don't know what to do. Windows updated itself recently and it might be a coincidence... Or it might not...

Anyone has any ideas?

Re: Serviio not starting

You can try to start serviio manually.

From Windows Vista and other similar Windows systems:

1. Click Start (bottom left)
2. Click on "All Programs", find Serviio folder and click it.
3. Find "Start Serviio service" and right click on it choosing "Run as administrator"
4. Wait a few seconds for Serviio service to start, then start the "Serviio Console" the way you usually do.

Re: Serviio not starting

I'm using windows XP

I tried to do as asked, "Run as administrator", but it says for it to work there needs to be a password, as the password-column cannot be blank. I have no password.

Can you post the serviio.log file?

Re: Serviio not starting

How do I do that?

I've checked the Serviio installation folder and the folder called "log" is empty, if that was what you meant...

Re: Serviio not starting

If it is asking for a password when you "Run as administrator", enter your Windows login password and see if that works.

The Serviio log is located usually on a Windows system at: C:\Program Files\Serviio\log and is called serviio.log, but if you can't start the Serviio service, there might not be a log there as you have said.

Re: Serviio not starting

Hi there

I am having the same trouble and have tried all of the above. So frustrating!

I have Windows 7 64 Bit. I haven't managed to get it to open at all, it is connecting to my TV fine but can't open the console to setup properly. When I click on the console, it l like it thinks about it then does nothing!

My log is attached. Please help!
