Sonos conflict?

I have Servvio running on my Windows 2008 Server and it's been working fine serving video to my Panasonic P42G30B TV.

However I recently bought a Sonos system and, since my media is all on this server, pointed the Sonos player at the music share on the server using a Sonos Controller app, also installed on the server. Ever since then when I look for media servers on my TV only Sonos shows up and not Serviio.

As I understand it the Sonos "server" is in fact the Sonos player and there is no media server s/w installed on the server. The Controller app is there to interact and configure the player. So I cannot see how a conflict could occur but I'm trying to figure out why Servvio has stopped working at this point. It could just be a coincidence I guess.

Any help getting Serviio back working would be much appreciated. Thanks

Re: Sonos conflict?

I bound the correct IP and turned off firewall - no difference. PC IP is 192.168.50.200. TV is dynamic but currently 192.168.50.11. Sonos is 50.25. TV was 50.99 and I tried Adding it manually at one point. neither serviio nor TV can see each other. Serviio only sees Sonos.

Re: Sonos conflict?

OK this is solved. Nothing to do with Sonos as such. It turned out to be a network issue. The cable linking the TV to the router had been chewed by the cat and had a very poor connection! For some reason i cannot fathom at all, this resulted in the TV being able to get the internet OK - including iplayer in HD, but messed up talking to any kind of media server on my computers. Replaced the cable and it all works AOK and Serviio is back up and running perfectly. Weird.

I know. What is it about cats and ethernet cables?! I have to replace the ones in my lounge about 3 or 4 times a year.

Are you talking about cats? ;-) Get a dog, it'll deal with it.
