Video stream

Hello,

I have an MPEG2 stream (http://url:111 ) that i broadcast with Serviio to my PS3 and my Philips TV.

I can watch the stream in bot ways - using PS3 as a player or using Philips TV as a player.

The transcoding is off.

My question: my devices (ps3 an tv) are able to play the stream without using the serviio?
How can I generate a file that contain only the link to the stream and try to play directly from usb to my devices?

Re: Video stream

Unless the device has a program that will pick up a online stream and play it, you will not be able to get this to work.

What serviio is doing is streaming the video to the normal player on the device. That player might or might not be able to play a online stream itself.

Re: Video stream

I suppose that serviio generate a file for each stream that is recognized by the devices.. Where I can find that file?

Look in the console under transcoding. I think there is a field that shows the temporary folder used. If no you can see it by looking at a detailed serviio.log file.

Re: Video stream

I'm not using the transcode option.

I think the device actually can plat the mpeg2 ts file, but how can I generate a file that contain the link to the http stream?

In other word, the serviio is doing something similar, it generates a file that is recognized by the tv.. But where is located, I've been search in all folders..

Re: Video stream

All online feeds are transcoded by default. I do not think you can disable it without editing the profile file.
