Servio not showing in sources for Skifta app

I am running Serviio on Ubuntu 12.04 and I can see Serviio running on my Xbox 360 and Samsung TV, but can't find it in Skifta. I've added the multicast route to /etc/network/interfaces. Any other ideas?

Re: Servio not showing in sources for Skifta app

Can ServiiDroid find it using search for severs (or any other DLNA app)? I do a simple DLNA search so if ServiiDroid can find it, Skifta/any other DLNA apps should be able to find it.

Are your TV and XBOX connected via wifi or LAN, I guess your router could be blocking multicast packets over wifi, but that would be a bit odd. Can you post all your IP address /inteface details along with your router.

ServiiDroid cannot find it. My TV and Xbox are wired through my LAN. I used 192.168.26.0/24 as my network. Serviio is running on .5 gateway is .1 which is a Netgear WNDR3700v3.

Halfway through typing the model of my router, I remembered that I connected to my guest network on accident which had wireless isolation enabled. Disabled that and it came right up. Thanks for the help :DD

Well that would make sense. :)

Re: Servio not showing in sources for Skifta app

New problem. I have an l2tp/ipsec vpn setup and can connect through my android phone. Whenever I do connect, ServiiDroid can connect to my server via local IP, but Skifta or any other DLNA client cannot. I've only tried a few clients. Anybody have this working or any suggestions?

Re: Servio not showing in sources for Skifta app

VPN is a problem because most servers will not forward multicast packets which DLNA uses for discovery, at least not by default. I think someone has said they got it working, but never posted with their VPN server and configuration. Personally I haven't got it working on my VPN server.

Wonder if it needs a route added to point the multicast to the vpn network? About to head to work or I would try.
