Sleep Prevention OSX Mountain Lion

I just wanted to start a topic on a major issue affecting everyone who upgraded to Mountain Lion: Apple has implemented a new os-wide energy saving policy: The computer will sleep, if the developer of the software hasn't specifically made the background application request a no-sleep when running in the background. As a result, such software (Serviio in this case) should be updated to account for this. Just wanted to bring this to the attention of whoever at serviio is taking care of osx development. I've been experiencing for a long time now and it is really irritating. Caffeine works but keeps the display lit, which makes watching a movie in a dark place not so pleasant. Disabling sleep from System Preferences every time one watches a movies is not practical.

Here is a topic on apple discussion forums describing the behavior: ... 0&tstart=0
