Serviio sees none of my devices

Hi all,

I'm interested in Serviio as a basic DLNA server. I will connect to it using two Android devices (Motorola) that have DLNA capability built in.

Unfortunately, Serviio shows no devices once installed. Neither Android device sees a DLNA server on my network. In fact, I don't think any of the devices see each other on the network.

I installed Serviio and then enabled TCP and UDP port forwarding for 8895 and 1900 respectively.

My system is Windows XP and networking is Verizon Fios via an Actiontec MI424WR router. Serviio is running on a PC with a hard-wired connection; the Android devices are connected to my network wirelessly.

Can someone please help? I've been searching and not found anything that can set me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

What are the IP addresses of the server and the phones?

IGMP proxy needed to be disabled on the Actiontec router. Apparently an issue others have experienced with the Actiontec. Took quite a bit of time to find it. Here is a thread that gives more info about the fix:

If you've upgraded to the latest version of the actiontec FW you cannot disable the IGMP proxy setting. I have wasted 2+ days trying it fix this problem. I am about to call verizon and go ballistic. Oddly the serviio server is visible through a wired connection..

The IGMP proxy was also affecting my ability to connect to my PC with my XBOX. Disabling it definitely did the trick.

I have an older version of the Actiontec router (b/g only) so I was able to disable it with no issue.

Took me forever to figure this one out too.

And yes, you can disable the IGMP proxy on the new Actiontec fw.
