A Sony BDP-S370 with the new DLNA enabled FW.
Device is stated as PS3.

How did you get this to work? My Sony BDP-S470 (basically the same machine) sees the Serviio server, but (1) only lists it under photos and audio, not video, and (2) returns the message "there is no playable file" for every folder.

Same here .... trying to play mkv files on my bdp-s470 using the following profile (as recommended in another thread):

<Profile id="9" name="Sony BDP-S470" extendsProfileId="1">
<Detection>
<X-AV-Client-Info>.*Blu-ray Disc Player.*</X-AV-Client-Info>
</Detection>
<MediaFormatProfiles>
<MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/divx">MATROSKA</MediaFormatProfile>
</MediaFormatProfiles>
<AutomaticImageRotation>true</AutomaticImageRotation>
</Profile>

Serviio server shows up under "pictures" and "music" but not video. I'm using Serviio v 0.4.1.

Any ideas?

I am running serviio on the following hardware:

- Mac Pro (8-core 2008 model, 8GB RAM, 10.6.4, etc)
- Samsung UE46C7700 3D LED TV + wireless dongle
- Samsung HT-Z222 home theather set (for sound only)

I have disabled all transcoding in serviio console, and I am fully enjoying it!

The TV could be a bit more intelligent that it would remember that I do not want PCM audio from the TV to the HT-set (over SPDIF optical) but Dolby or DTS, but apart from that: great stuff!

Works very well on a Philips 32PFL7605H/12.

Setup:
- Serviio running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server (2.4 Ghz processor, 2 Gb memory)
- Ethernet cable
- Philips 32PFL7605H/12

It is the TV set itself that's causing problems:
1. AVI: movies are not playable as is. I can't find the right combination to let Serviio stream the .avi as is to the TV Set. Serviio has now been set to transcode .avi to mpeg2. ffmpeg is consuming all processor resources.
2. AVI: srt subtitles are not recognized.
3. DVD: .ifo are not recognized. No menu, no language or subtitle selection possible. It is only possible to play .vob one after another.
4. Artwork: dvdcover.jpg, folder.jpg etc. are not recognized.

For having such a short shelf life this project is extremely polished, amazing work by one person! Thanks a lot. I hope I can contribute to your efforts in the future. The firmware on these devices is a moving target at this point, they are really new.

Britinva wrote:Ditto on Samsung BD-C5500 Bluray Disc Player....... should mean the C6500 and C6900 will be OK too
Just select the WiselinkPro profile and ensure you stop/start the Serviio server

Steve wrote:I'm using a Samsung BD-c5500 bluray player.

Videos are detected fine, but audio files are not detecting for me. The structure of the folders containing audio files is available to browse, but the content is not visible. Transcoding fails for very few videos.

Sometimes Serviio will go through a spat of disconnecting constantly, then becomes stable again. I don't know if it's related, but times I've noticed it have been after saving changes to the shared folder settings.

Another Samsung BD-C5500C Blu-Ray Player user here. I reported my issue with my Sony DSC-P200 Digital Camera .mp4 videos. Other than that I couldn't be more more pleased with streaming of other .mp4s, .avis, .mp3s and .jpgs. I've come across a couple .wmv files that wouldn't play.

In general it seems pretty reliable.

Hi, I'm new so be nice....

I installed serviio on recommendation from a friend as an alternative to Samsung's software to serve media to my samsung ps50c7000.

The TV supports mkv, but if I try and play one, the TV reports, "Not Supported File Format". I have tried the automatic render profile and the Samsung wiselink profile.

Instead I have to serve it via my PS3.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

It should work if you select the Samsung C-series profile (don't forget to click Save button).

First and foremost, thank you so much for this excellent program! Simplicity itself to set up and it works great "out of the box". Like a few other people I use it to serve a Samsung BD-C5500 and I have had no problems whatsoever (although I haven't tested subtitles yet...).

Samsung LN52A750. Works great with the following changes to profiles. xml under Wiselink pro A series

<Profile id="5" name="Samsung WiselinkPro (A-series)" extendsProfileId="2">
<MediaFormatProfiles>

<MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/x-divx">AVI</MediaFormatProfile>

</MediaFormatProfiles>
<Transcoding>
<Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetACodec="ac3" targetVCodec="mpeg2video">
<Matches container="matroska" />
<Matches container="mp4" />
<Matches container="asf" />
</Video>
</Transcoding>
</Profile>

Also if encoding videos from handbrake with ffmpeg only encode with the aac audio stream as encoding with 2 audio streams (aac and ac3) will result in no sound from serviio's ffmpeg transcoding.

Sony Bravia KDL-40HX701. Works great with the Wiselink pro A series profile listed above
