Max. number feed items to retrieve??

I was never quite sure what it meant. I had 17 "Web Resources" and 3 "RSS". I added another RSS and it didn't show up on the Sony Bravia TV. I changed the "Max. number feed items to retrieve" from 20 to 30, and the RSS entries completely disappeared. Changed to 40 and the same problem. When I set it to "Unlimited", all 21 entries came back and work. Anyone have any ideas why?
Re: Max. number feed items to retrieve??
for a RSS feed, it means it'll only retrieve X number of feed items.
for a plugin based resource, it depends if the developer implements it, but should do the same thing

Re: Max. number feed items to retrieve??
Thank you. It became obvious I didn't know what I was doing when I waited a little longer and more stuff appeared. I'm still a bit confused though. For example, when I set the "Max" t0 20, http://podcast.unctv.org/rssfeeds/ourstate_podcast.xml shows 12 .mov files. If i set the "Max" to 30 or 40, I see a few more, but not 30 or 40. Setting it to "Unlimited" displays a cr@pload of files (probably the whole page of > 60). What am I not understanding?
Re: Max. number feed items to retrieve??
It might be that Serviio strips the list to 20, but only 12 feed items include a valid video file. Check the log.

Could be that. I"ll try to understand the log. There were a TV full of icons though (with "Unlimited) and all that I tried were playable.

The 17 and 3 you reference are "feeds". Each feed contains "feed items" which may be any quantity based in the web source page so "Max num.." provides a way to limit the number of items within any feed.
