After upgrading to 1.9.2 (x64) version playback issues occured. After starting file there were 2 identical messages displayed (somewhat "File do not supported") and movie starts to play but without Rew/FF and with wrong overall movie duration.
Steps I tried to resolve this:
- checking TV profile in STATUS tab
- deleting and re-adding Movies folder
- checking if Transcoding option enabled in DELIVERY tab
- deleting and reinstalling Serviio 1.9.2
- compare all Serviio options in 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 versions if somewhat accidentally changed (options were identical between versions)
Then I downgrade to 1.9.1 (x64) version and my playback return to normal: whithout any errors (messages) with actual movie duration (time) and Rew/FF function.
It is not isolated to one file issue, I found some others MKV files with the same issue and all work fine after downgrading Serviio.

same movie in mkv, when it advances the film in versions 1.8 or 1.9 of this error in any tv, I tested in LG, sansung among others.
In version 1.7 works perfect, being able to advance the film perfectly without problem.

follow the video on youtube that made the demonstration

My issue is not the same. Playback with sound is continuing in my case. Duration of movie nearly twice a less than actual and the main thing - no Rew/FF function.

RW/FF is not available for transcoded files, and it often doesn't report accurate movie length at the same time. So that's what is causing your issue. If you are certain the selected profile for your TV hasn't changed between 1.9.1 and 1.9.2, then I think that something changed in the profile.

Any chance you had made personal modifications to the profile? Every time you upgrade the profiles file is replaced with a new version. Or perhaps the profile you are using had changes between the two versions. I have no idea if that happened, but it would be an explanation.

profile.xml file in config folder has slightly different length in 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 versions. I found Samsung E/F series section in both files and it seems identical. Remarkably but replacement profile.xml with obsolete one did not fix the issue with playback (after restarting server).

Well, it was worth a shot. Next step is to provide us with a copy of your Serviio log. You should probably enable debug logging first, and I also suggest changing the default log size from 500kb to 5000kb. That is changed in the same file that you have to edit for debug logging. You'll see it in the top section.

So,

Stop the Serviio service
Make the changes necessary to enable debug logging
Delete your current Serviio log so we have a clean file
Start the Serviio service, go to your TV and try to play a file that gives you problems
Stop the playback (if it even starts), stop the Serviio service, and save the log file to a different location
Turn debug logging back off until (unless) you need it again

I was hoping Zip would have looked this over before now, but I just took a peek myself. This log is incomplete. It only has a tiny bit of the complete log, and the line that shows the beginning of playback isn't there. There's only one line in the entire file that mentions file playback, and it was when you shut Serviio down. It looks like HP4.BDRip.720p.DVD9.mkv was being played, although it shows playback stopped at 0%, which means it had just started. But again, the line that originally calls for playback isn't there.

By default, Serviio breaks the log file into 500k files. When you are making a debug log, that's far too small. In the same file you edited to enable debug, there was a line closer to the beginning the specifies the max file size. Change 500k to 5000k or more, then restart Serviio again in debug mode and try playing the file. Empty the log folder while Serviio isn't running, so you start with a fresh log. When you are done, if there's more than one log in the folder please zip them all into a single compressed file and upload them again here.

Serviio version 1.10 x86_x64
Bug is still here.
Downgraded to version 1.9.1 again. Developers shame on you.

Is it just this one file?
IN the logs I cannot even see the file is being played, I see you browse to it, but then the server shuts down.

Can you send a detailed log again (stop server, delete all logs, update config, start server), just browse to the file , play and then send the logs (ideally zip them up).

No, it's not just one file.

Same files played in 1.9.1 without problems and Serviio logs.

Did you stop the server at the end? Or did it shut itself down?

I stoped the server via QNAP App Manager. Stopping server via web console do not works for me. Server do not stops actually, logs do not created after log settings correction.

So the difference is that 1.9.1 doesn't transcode the video. Not sure what, as the profile has not really changed.

Are you perhaps using audio track preference on the Delivery / Languages tab?

You right, that's the difference.

What if you untick Enable transcoding.

It should help but will not exactly help us about the root cause of the problem.

OK. I unticked all options in transcoding and subtitles submenus - and it works, though it's like crutch.
Thank you, zip.
