Re: Compatible devices list

Samsung tv pn50c8000
Samsung bluray bd-c6900

Waiting on a Denon avr-3311ci to show up:)

Only issues so far are mkv files and mp4 audio files on the Samsung devices.
MKV files work fine using tvmobili.

Re: Compatible devices list

I've a Sony BDP-S370 working with Serviio :)

Also got an HTC Desire (Android) running eyecon as a DLNA client which plays back mp4 files. :)

I'm trying to add a specific rendering profile for the Desire so I can use the transcoding features of serviio but I'm haviung a lot of trouble in trying to find a device description that Serviio will recognise :(

regards

Samsung LE40C650 and PS3.
Serviio is installed on Qnap TS-119.
Everything works great!

(only wish - faster indexing and updating)

Re: Compatible devices list

Panasonic TV

Worked at first attempt after creating a dedicated profile.
Very good GUI letting you configure everything and skip downloading meta data. Intuitive compared to XBMC, PS3.

Thanks,
Mans

Re: Compatible devices list

I use a Toshiba Regza 32RV753 TV and Philips BDP5100, both work fairly well with the generic profile though I have noticed the Regza profile is in the latest release. Yay!

Re: Compatible devices list

Works perfectly on the WDTV Live (no Profile Needed)
Sony BDP-S470 needs a moderate amount of tweaking however it became great using the 0.5 version. And the community support! (Thanks Petr and Patters)
Philips PFL8404 (barely useable, would be nice to come up with a profile for Philips TVs)
Freecom MusicPAl (Works perfectly with the standard profile)

Create a post on "Support&H" section, we could probably help you to create a Philips TV profile.

Re: Compatible devices list

Just downloaded it a couple of days ago. Configured it up last night, seems to be working well with my Panasonic TX-P50G20B

I had to change the 'Panasonic Viera' profile slightly as DTS encoded mkv's do not play at all (no sound OR video). Transcribing the audio to ac3 worked a treat and brought the video back too.

From:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts">
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>

To:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>

Re: Compatible devices list

Working fine with a Samsung LN46C630 and a WD TV Live.

I only had 0.4.2 a week or so before 0.5 came out. Lots of improvements! I particularly like:

- different profiles for different devices

- hiding certain menu items (I don't have videos organized by producer, actor, genre etc.)

Obviously the Samsung uses a Samsung "C" series TV profile while the WD TV Live uses a generic profile. The Samsung "C" profile really saves a lot of reconfiguration over other programs because apparently these TVs are quite particular regarding the DLNA headers they expect. DLNA is an open protocol but Samsung went so far as to almost break it.:roll: This is why they encourage people to use their DLNA server software, which only works in Windows (I'm on Ubuntu Linux) and is apparently quite buggy.

Both devices are working fine, except for the "Random"menu item which just presents all the items ordered in a list - so not really random at all then.;) No biggie. Maybe I missed a setting or something.

Looking forward to the next release where audio transcoding is introduced because my entire music collection is in FLAC and transcoding from FLAC to MP3 (for the TV) is quite easy - I have command-line arguments from other programs ready.

Thank you for this program!

Version 0.5 runs fine with Panasonic Viera TX-L42D25E, using dedicated Viera TV profile. Thanks a lot.

Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20B TV with serviio 0.5 running on Fedora 12

Works very nicely - video, pictures & music.
(found some videos won't play, I'm investigating why)

Great software, thank you :)

Re: Compatible devices list

I just installed it to serve to the WD HD TV Live and it seems to be working like a charm. I will test my Samsung b52750 later.

Thanks!
