Unable to play WMA files using the Generic DLNA profile

Hi:
I had setup the Serviio server and added my audio directory to be shared. However when I go to the DLNA share, the WMA audio files are not played, I instead get an error: Unable to play file.
mp3 files I am able to play without an issue.

I am running Serviio v 1.6

any help and assistance with figuring this out is much appreciated.
(I checked the profile and made sure that the "asf" encoding is supported in the Generic Profile Audio section.)

Thanks

Generic profile doesn't have any transcoding for local files.

Re: Unable to play WMA files using the Generic DLNA profile

Hi Petr:
Thanks for the prompt response,. However, I am listening to music via the Samsung R1 Multiroom speaker (similar to the sonos speakers), Which profile would you suggest that I use for playing music through such a device ? I connect usingthe corresponding Samsung music app that lets me stream music from DLNA servers to the speakers via wifi.

Re: Unable to play WMA files using the Generic DLNA profile

I looked up the Samsung R1, and it lists WMA as a supported codec. The problem is, there is more than one version of WMA, and Samsung doesn't say what exactly they support. It shows support for MP3, so any profile that transcodes WMA audio to MP3 should work. I don't have access to the profiles file right now, so I can't say which one works. I'd suggest trying one of the Sony profiles first.
