Can Serviio Remux Xvid or does it have to transcode with mpeg2video
Re: Can you remux xvid avi to mpegts?
Can do both depending of profile selected and profile configuration.

Re: Can you remux xvid avi to mpegts?
Well I own a Sony 32EX308 TV and am using the Sony Bravia profile. A lot of my TV shows are in XviD and I notice my CPU shoots up to 80-100% when playing these files. I looked at the Bravia profile and it seems to only remux AVI's with H264 vcodec. can I edit this profile to remux xvid as well? If so can anyone provide an example? I want to remux as much as possible as my server is used for other things.

There are a few months ago, I spent time to create the Sony Bravia Profile and I know that EX500 supports H264 over DLNA but not xVid.
So xVid must be transcoded to mpeg2video not remuxed.
But if you want to play, you can edit the profile, but you have to know what you do...

Re: Can you remux xvid avi to mpegts?
Though technically MPEG4-Part 2 video (DivX/Xvid) streams can be put in an mpegts container it seems that many devices can only play them in an MP4 container. The problem is you can't live remux MP4 because of limitations with the design of the container, so unfortunately unless your renderer supports these files in AVI you will have to re-encode the whole thing to MPEG2 Video.
