movie consists out of several avchd files

hello,

I have several films on my hdd which I stream via serviio to my television.
The issue is that each film consists out of several avchd files which I have to select via remote control or smartphone.
This is not very comfortable because the avchd files were sometimes only some seconds long

My question:

is serviio able to play all avchd which consists to the same film automatically ?
and if yes how is that possible., Maybe in the pro edition ?

thanks a lot
Steffen

Yes, the Pro version does support video file stacking. You can find the setting on the console under Delivery/Stacking. It requires specific naming of the files to group them together and play them as a single file. Of course, your player might be able to play files continuously, but there will most likely be a short pause as it loads the next one. With the stacking that Serviio can do they play as if they are a single file.

Thanks for the answer. I enabled Stacking but the videos (naming e.g. folder "01-01-2018", within this folder 3 files with naming: 20180101_103233.m2ts, 20180101_103811.m2ts, 20180101_105022.m2ts) but when I start one of the files only one file is played:

structure:
folder "01-01-2018
3 files in folder with naming:
- 20180101_103233.m2ts
- 20180101_103811.m2ts
- 20180101_105022.m2ts

What can I do to solve the problem ?
Currently I am also using VLC with a Amazon fire stick. Also with Servio Go Stacking is not working.

This prevents me from buying pro version which I am testing currently. I don't want to convert all of my more than 1000 files ..

Thanks a lot
Steffen

Those file names don't meet the requirement. See this page http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... 9&catid=10

I had problems the first time I tried it, until I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was doing:

MyVideo part 1.avi
MyVideo part 2.avi

but they had to be:

MyVideo part1.avi
MyVideo part2.avi

Notice there's no space between the word part and the number. Once I fixed that my files stacked correctly.

No. The files themselves are not named correctly. The file name for each part must be identical except for the Part1, Part2, etc. Your files are the same for the first part, but after the underscore you have a different string of numbers. That doesn't work for the stacking. See the link I provided before and you can see there are several ways to identify each part. But the main file name must be identical for every file that is part of the total video.

Example:

20180101_103233.m2ts should instead be 20180101_part1.m2ts (assuming it is the first file of the group). I don't think the underscore will cause a problem, but make sure that every file has it if one has it.

Total Commander has the multi renaming tool, makes it super easy, can use wildcards and regular expressions, its very easy and customizable.

Freaknik offers one suggestion. Filebot is another, although it is designed to name files based on movie titles, and wouldn't have the ability to add the part number to the name.

Make sure you test it first on two or three groups of files and make sure it does what you're looking for. I think it will, but you're the one that needs to be happy with the results. ;)
