Re: Transcoding bug on samsung c profile?

Please result of ffmpeg -i "second file.mkv" (you need to add " " arround file path
Same with ffmpeg -i "D:\abcd\Hua.Mulan.2009.FRENCH.720p.BluRay.x264-FHD.mkv"

These files are mkv/h264/DTS or AC3 and must be transmitted in native format to your Samsung TV (Samsung DTV DMR (profile 7)).

So it seems that the x264 encoding settings are not supported by your Samsung.

Do you think we could add some settings ? And also, why the first file is read on my TV if I change the setting in Serviio console ? For the second file, I am pretty sure it come from the initial encoding itself, but I am a total newbie in this domain :)

Re: Transcoding bug on samsung c profile?

The first plays because the DTS audio is transcoded into AC3. But your C series TV supports DTS natively (normally), that's why it's not setup to be transcoded. It seems that this file is encoded in a way the TV doesn't like. You could remux it into MPEGTS via TsMuxer and see if you can play it then.

Hi zip,

I tried to load it in TsMuxer 1.10.6 and got the following error : TS muxer error " Matroska parse error :invalid H264NAL unit size. NAL unit truncated." And the program block on this.

About this first file, this means when I select Samsung Series B as it is not native, Serviio transcode it.
And obviously, not with profile C as it is supposed to be native and of course not supposed needed, in this case, serviio let it pass as it is correct ?
To be complete, do you think the problem with this file come from the sound or the video ? Or maybe both of them :) ? Should I give it a try with H264 LevelEditor_1.0.0 ?

Finally, what about the second file what do you think about it ?

EDIT: Got the same message from TsMuxer with the second file :(
Thanks,

Correct

Not sure, looks like audio or combination of audio and container.

No idea, it might be just encoded with a set of settings the TV doesn't like, it's hard to tell. I assume the file cannot be streamed via Samsung PC Share manager..?

Is there a way for me to re-encode it in a valid format? If yes, what do you suggest ( audio - vidéo format ? and of course :) which tool should I use for it ? )

Well, as Serviio does the job perfectly ( and I profit of this occasion to congrats all of the team for this incredible job !! bravo ) I removed Samsung PCM from my computer just to be sure it would not interact with serviio server.
Btw, is there any inconvenient to install Serviio on another Drive and directory ?

Thanks,

Google for the tool and search this forum for a format. I don't do it myself.

No, you can install it anywhere

Re: Transcoding bug on samsung c profile?

Re - Edit,

After the update of the tv firmware these two files plays now perfectly. I confess I never did it on the TV and if I look into the versions numbers, I had a lot of difference in the version installed and the version available. In the other side, each time I tried to update the TV directly on samsung website, I had a nice message telling me " no new version were available", indeed the version on their website are compressed executable files :(

By the way, I know it is not in the good forum, but anybody know where are the patch notes for the firmware update on Samsung TV ?

Thanks for the help.
