Sony W5500 incorrect display.

Anyone help with problem transcoding from PC to Sony W5500 tv, video files on PC are 16:9 widescreen (Black bars top & bottom) when streamed to Sony TV they appear as full screen.
The transcoding seems to be enlarging the picture, with the TV displaying a stretched ouput. Had the same problem went i was testing Mezzmo server. Thought i would try Serviio
but no difference. The TV is set to 16:9 display, have tried it with all the different display options but no luck. Do not know much about transcoding, but i assume the problem lies
in the transcoding parameters. Anybody who can help me? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sony W5500 incorrect display.

I have the same problem, when I play a mkv file the aspect ratio isn't respected. When I play mkv through Other dlna server like Wild Media Server or PS3MS the file is reproduced in the correct way (with black bar on top and bottom); when I play mkv using Serviio I don't see the black bar, the video is streched to fit 16:9 tv. How I can solve the problem? Thank you.

Re: Sony W5500 incorrect display.

The video fit all tv screen 16:9. My TV is Sony KDL-40HX800. When I return home I take the picture.
With this file I have another problem: the audio track streamed to TV is English track instead of the italy one. I resolved the problem removing the english track, there is a way to set as default language audio the italian?

Re: Sony W5500 incorrect display.

What I use is just a 5meter Hdmi cable from my pc to the tv, and play Mkv files on Media Player by extending the screen. The videocard has 2 outputs a dvi and hdmi so i can always do 2 things at one time.

The file plays fine in full screen, you can change language and stuff in the right bottom of the desktop, on that green arrow or something.

I used to stream files through xbox 360, but i found just conecting a extra hdmi from the pc to tv works a lot better.

You do need to download the shark codec pack for media player.(windows 7)

Or If you have not pressed HOME on your remote, and go all the way to the left, you can go to Screen adjustment, and maybe play around with the settings there it might work, as my pc didnt fit the screen, and i didnt know where to change it and accidently stumbled acros the right setting there.

For my point of view the serviio.jpg looks fine ...
Your TV is 16:9 and the video is 16:9 - so it should fit - I think wildm is doing it wrong.

Have to correct myself. There is really something I don't understand ... I converted an HD movie to aspect 4:3 and serviio displays it fully on TV 16:9, the windows thumbs are displayed 4:3 ... when I convert the same video to 16:9 it is streched (black bars on top and bottom).
Is my assumption correct that a 16:9 movie should fit on a 16:9 TV?
