Samsung BD-J5700

I just bought a BD-J5700 to replace a much older Samsung Blu-Ray player that didn't have WiFi. This is now in my bedroom, so WiFi is the only option for getting network services to the TV this player is connected to.

With my Samsung Smart TV in the living room, Serviio works fine. I can browse my media and play everything fine. On the blu-ray player in my bedroom, I only see the folders -- there is not a single file listed when I browse. Serviio did not properly detect my blu-ray player, so I selected the "Samsung TV / player (J-Series)" profile, but this didn't help.

I'm able to play Netflix using this same player.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Samsung BD-J5700

Check which profile Serviio has assigned to it. Most likely it picked the wrong one. There is a Samsung J profile available.

Re: Samsung BD-J5700

Thanks for the suggestion. I was using the J profile, but it didn't help. I decided to just return the player because I saw an older post with someone using the same player with the same problem.

I realized I can run a network cable from my wifi repeater to my older wired blu-ray player, so I'm just going to use that instead.
