Hello, I get this message whn I want to start serviio console. Everything was fine till I updated from 1.1 to 1.2

I've uninstalled and reinstalled serviio several times but it is still not working.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled serviio several times but it is still not working.

what operating system are you using? mac? win? linux?

the service doesn't start for some reason. You could try to uninstall all Java versions, and install the latest Java again.

Hello. New User, first post.
I am having the same problem, but reinstalling Java did not fix the issue.
There seems to be a problem starting the service. If I go into services.msc and start the service manually I can then start the console, but otherwise I get the error in the original post and the following log:

I am having the same problem, but reinstalling Java did not fix the issue.

Hmm... recently same issue here

Now on WIn 7 64bit.... console cant connect either.
ALso a problem starting the console 1.3.1
I suspect is a JAVA issue..

Confirmed issues with Windows 7 64 bit and Java 7 update 25
Tested both desktop and laptop , all with full removal and reinstall from offline etc etc
Can only normally access with 1.3.1 console (desktop) to 1.2.1 Server (on Synology NAS) with android ServiiDroid now.
COnsoile in windows just stops working immediately and gives cant connect error

The console and server version must be the same (in your case 1.2.1 because 1.3 is not available for the Synology NAS yet). ServiiDroid works because I designed it to work with any version as I didn't want to have to publish a seperate version of Google Play for every version of Serviio.

well then something is wrong. because serviio console is not showing PS3 in it and it used to always, also I usually get this message that "serviio is now running" were I had to press ok, and the serviio icon always appeared in task bar i guess. Its wierd that I can see serviio in PS3 but I cant browse my files, it just tells e that there are no files. So I don't know what to do ;]
I'm sorry console is showing PS3 in it. Had to wait longer, but other problems still remain.

From the log it shows the server is running. so:
1) start Serviio (it might or might not appear in the dock)
2) start Serviio-Console - it should appear in the dock
3) setup your files in the console

I had the same problem, and fixed it by going to the task manager, and then the tab "services" where i found Serviio, right clicked it and pressed "start". Then when starting the Serviio console, it opened normally.

I just format my pc and i'm installing all my stuff again, but i have the same issue with java... Any help? I tried to unistall and install java offline but nothing happened. A couple of days ago (before format), had no problem with serviio.

I have the same issue. The only change I made when it started to act up was purchasing the pro license. Im not very happy about this because I never purchase paid products but I liked the way the software worked and wanted to donate to the devs. Please any help would be nice. I know that this conversation has been stale for some time.

The server doesn't start for some reason. Post your serviio.log
