Strange results when changing presentation settings

Hi

New user here finally got my network working.

Currently running Serviio 1.2.1 try to stream to a Samsung UE32EH5300. I have the profile set to the C/D/E series.

As default my presentation settings were set to this:

With these settings I can see tons of folders from my TV, and if I browse to the titles folder there is then an alphabetized folder list, and for whatever reason random media files seem to appear in random folders here, I cant make any sense of it so finding the media file I'm looking for wouldnt just be a case of going to the first letter of the file, it just seems random.

So I googled your forum and it looks like the best presentation settings for a samsung tv are:

Image

When I then go to my tv, the folders are exactly how I want them ie just the list of the content in my library in alphabetical order however:

only folders are displayed (no files in the root folder), and when I attempt to browse any of those folders I get an error message "request cannot be completed. MEDIA PLAY will return to the main screen"

So with default presentation settings, the organization is all messed up, but I can actually view the media files and browse folders, but when I change the presentation settings, I get the error message trying to browse any folders.

Thank you.

The default settings give you a list of categories (virtual folders) where it stores files based on the metadata. You can use the Folders category to browse files as they are on your hard drive.

Regarding the second issue, can you enable detailed log, reproduce the issue and then post the log here?

here is the log.

Also I tried what you said and went with the default presentation with all the display categories. I navigated to folders and I saw the correct folders as expected, but again I cannot browse these folders without getting the error. However if I navigate into the titles folder, even though the location of files within the folders appears random, I can access the files in the folders and play the media.

Thanks

All looks fine from the log. Can you try with Generic DLNA profile?

Also, are you running the latest firmware on your TV?

Isn't there an option to remove cached servers in the TV's menu somewhere? Maybe that would help.

I tried a factory reset, followed by patching.

No change.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Ok thanks for trying. Just so you know I got it working first time with plex but I would have preferred to use serviio.

Best of luck
