Hi,

I cant figure out why this mkv-file wont play on my d-series, samsung reports it cant play the video codec - what am i missing?

i am on serviio 1.3 and am using the samsung C/D/E/F-series profile with one modification:

this line is disabled under <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" targetVCodec="mpeg2video">
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />

my guess is that the problem is the h264 - profile which VLC reports as H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) but I'm not sure what & where to change (profile or the encoding of the file). any pointers would be much appreciated!

Hi,

I have same problem with new Serviio 1.3. I am not able to play any mkv file which I have :( .
There is error: Unsupported file ...
I had to reinstall Serviio back to version 1.2.1 and it works fine.
I have two Samsungs C-Series TV and I use same profile as above Samsung C/D/E/F-series without any modification.

i can play almost all mkv files without problem. it's really only this one and i think another mkv file i have.

i you cant play any mkv files at - did you check that the player supports them (dont know what the c- series can play natively). you could try to set all mkv's to transcoding that might work.

You are lucky man.
I use Serviio for a long time without problem. I think from version 1.0.
When you read carefully my last post then you will know that I installed Serviio 1.2.1 back, because it works well.
I did not find any format which my TV cannot play.
So problem is not in TV because it works with version 1.2.1 but not with 1.3.
Thanks for reply

I assume you're using a wrong profile.

Thanks for reply.
I installed new version 1.3.1 and it works. It is likely that I had a bad profile. I installed update as different user.
Thanks for help.
