Ok at home we have a simple wireless router comcast connection, got just 2 computers ones my desktop connected via old fashion ethernet cable and the imac is in the dining room via wifi connection to a belkin wireless router.

Just got a 40 inch samsung led smart tv and its also connected to the belkin wiress. So I installed serviio on the windows desktop pc and it shows and detected the samsung tv and I am able to connect to the desktop pc from the smarthub area of the tv and watch movies on the directory's.

The issue is on the imac I also installed serviio and the the connected list where it shows you the ipaddress and info of detected devices the samsung tv is not on that list just my desktop pc is. anyone know whats up with this? Remember the imac is wifi and so is the samsung tv. Thanks

Firstly, make sure wireless client isolation isn't enabled on your router. Normally off by default on most routers, it is designed to specifically stop one wireless client seeing another.

If off (or the option doesn't exist) try plugging your iMac to cable to rule out the wireless routing bit.

Ill check that settings in the router is there any other names that setting goes by?

Its to far to run a ethernet cable plus wife wont want a ugly cable going across the house lol

If the belkin router doesnt have that setting you talk about there is no other ways? Thanks

I'm pretty sure in the Belkins it is called Client isolation, under Wireless.
...is no other ways
Chances are you haven't got the setting anyway (some of the Belkin's have it, others don't. Even those that did, didn't enable it - which is how we want it). Just doing the preliminary check of the obvious first, but honestly its unlikely to be this.

I'm suggesting moving the iMac to the router and plugging in a cable just for a test. The use of the Ethernet cable is simply to rule out the wireless component. If Ethernet works then it will lead us down one path, if it doesn't another.
