Hi,

I tried serviio 0.5 version, everything works fine, but does not play MKV files through my Samsung TV ue32c6530, things could be the problem?

Can you post detailed log of when you try to play the file?

I attach a movie, then refer on TV video, folders, and play film, but tv wrote the file format is not supported.

I tried the DEBUG command, the result is the same, what else could be the problem?

I need you to post serviio.log that is written as a result of the change you did... don't post the whole file, only the bit around the time you attempt to play the file

I am having to go back to 0.4.2 to play MKV files as well. At least I am about to try that.

There should be no change in the Samsung C profiles in these two versions, or at least not anything MKV relevant. Can you play them using the Generic profile?

I was having this exact problem with my Samsung C6400 Plasma. I could not play any mkv files. Then I noticed that on the "status" tab of the console that the profile was on the default "Generic DLNA" profile. Once I switched it back to the Samsung C Series everything is playing again.

I've been using this program for a bit now and I gotta say its great. This latest build--now that I have the mkv issue sorted--is even better. Most notable the "presentation" options. It cuts the amount of file screens down to 2-3 instead of like 1000. :D

Thanks
Nathan

Not me sadly. I tried both generic and Samsung series C as profiles. The only MKV file I couldn't play for either 0.5 or 0.4.2 was one with AAC sound. All others work great under 0.4.2 and are listed as non supported under 0.5. With 0.4.2 all MKV's work under generic as well. My Samsung BluRay player is listed as supporting them natively, so I don't understand why there would be an issue.

Can you guys confirm that if you remove all your renderers from the table (in the console, don't forget to save) and restart Serviio, it'll find your Samsung and give it the right profile straight away? If not, a detailed log of when the server starts would be cool.

Right now I have downgraded to 0.4.2 and it works great. Maybe this weekend I can try and upgrade to 0.5 again and see what is up. I did know that my player (the BD C6500 bluray player) only shows as unknown device. It did that always in 0.5. It does that in 0.4.2 as well, though files seem to play anway, whether or not I use generic or the c profile.

I also have noticed this issue of this version. Even though I really wanted to play .mkv files but I am going to switch it to the new version. I am looking forward to see this fixed.

Serviio is awesome.. blame Samsung and their ----- media player software... with a little work on the profiles I got .4.2 working and .5 was even easier (see below).
Found same problem - multiple MKV (audio/etc) wouldn't play n new version, played fine on .4.2
I didn't go back in and reset the renderer profile (the dropdown needs an arrow so people know it is there, I found it by accident by clicking where is said unknown profile.. hint hint programmers!).

Once I changed it to SONY BD Player (US) I had all of my MKVs back instantly!

Also, I used the following in my profiles.xml in .4.2 and it helped run all the MKVs (I have a Samsung TV and BD Player running out of a Windows 7 Pro-64-bit Serviio).
Hope this helps someone.
