Samsung C7700, Audio file sorting

Hello to everybody. I could not find an answer to the following: When I open an album folder of e.g. MP3-files, my TV always sorts them according to the file names. The meta data (track number x of y) is ignored, so all files are played by name not by track number... :(
All meta-data collecting etc. in Serviio is switched to on. I am using the lastest version.

Is there a way to get this fixed or is it a problem of the TV :?:

I really hope so...

Cheers!

Alex

Serviio sorts it by the track number, so it might be that the TV then displays it aplhabetically..

Ok :(
So the DNLA-streaming would be worthless for me, when the track info is not retrieved to the TV... i will not rename thousands of files...
Am I understanding right, that Serviio can only sort it by track number but does not send the track infos with the file names? Is this a restriction by the protocol?

Thanks,Alex

It does send the track number. You can double check by using AV Media Controller from Intel tools (in my signature), browse to Serviio/Albums and check properties of a file.

What category are you using? Folders? Or Artist?

Folders category sorts by file name, the other ones by track number.

This is interesting: When using artist the tracks in the album are shown in the correct order :) . When using folder they are alphabetically :( . Very curious: In both cases my Samsung does not show any track numbers. I cannot do any sorting. So the TV shows it in the order, it gets from Serviio I think.

As pre my previous post. The Folders category is basically just a view of your file system, and there the files are usually sorted by file name. I'd recommend to use one of the other categories.

If you have ideas about any other category that is missing, create a feature request in the proper forum.
