Serviio

When browsing folders which have not been browsed before the Samsung T27B551 crashes and resets.
I've been looking in to this issue for a whole one and off with various version of Serviio.
Even with the latest version, when browsing folders which the TV has not been in , the TV will freeze, then the screen turn black and finally reset.

Some entries from a debug log are attached. The only significant part i can see is "2014-02-08 17:57:15,767 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset" but there may be other parts to the specialists in Serviio.
I was reading online and see this problem is common with other DLNA servers and samsung TV's and there was some reference to the Sink details. Not entirely sure what they are, but I have followrf Zips instruction and included the Sink profile for my TV. See attached. The closest profile is the samsung E/F series (especially the F series based on a comparison the the Sink data).

Any ideas how to fix this issue ?

Is this when browsing the Folders category only or also other categories (movies, genres, etc)?

This happened to me too.
In my case it was the folder permissions to blame.

Create a new folder in C:\ (NOT a sub directory of an already shared folder!!)

Add one video file in it.. force update

and try that.

If it works... then you need to either create new folders and MOVE your files or if your confident you can...
right click
share with
Specific people
Drop down box, "everyone"
Add
Share.

Do that for any folders that aint working

This on is standard folder , i dont use the other types.
I have noticed that i can change the frequency of the crashed depending on the profile. Following some recent tests the F series profile (for which the sink data is closest) crashes more than the c/d profile.
Also once the folders have been read once the crashing to reduce , almost as is the TV is caching the content?

This also happens on a similar but slightly older TB27B550 tv, but serviio works fine on a sony and Samsung 47le750c

Any idea?

All wired network, and once the film is playing no issues, its simply getting to the point where i can play a film

Duke , its not a sharing issues, as once the tv start to play a film it works fine.

Does it happen with previous Serviio versions too? Try googling for them.

No idea... Could it be a dodgy character in a file name? Does it crash for all folders?

Its in intermittent issues, but is worse on some profiles than others, If it was a dodgy character it would fail all the time, and i could eliminate it easily.
It also appears to change frequency depending on the profile, for example the C/D Samsung profile the crashing happens much less than the e/f profile

Are there any parts of the profiles, which are to do with the way the browsing data is transmitted to the device? Could there be a clue in the Sink data ?

No, browsing should not be affected by the profiles. They all inherit from the same profile anyway, so the only changes are transcoding rules.

Is there a way in serviio to add custom http headers ?

As mentioned earlier this is not just an issue with Servio, I personally believe its the way Samsung TVs need the data sent to them

How and where in the profile are these added ?

Those headers are already being sent by Serviio.

And they are needed for playing a file, not browsing.
