Yeah I couldn't get it to work either. I went back to 0.4.2 for now and it works great, though I loose some neat new features like the folders stuff.

Can somebody compare the logs from those 2 versions when you play MKV? or post them here for me to have a look.

there is Vorbis audio, which is not recognized by Serviio - that's why it's not added.
Not sure why it was working for 0.4.2, the only possibility would be the older FFmpeg would detect the audio as something else.

Same problem here (Samsung LE40C550 + Snow Leopard). Unfortunately I cannot report the ffmpeg -i info since I already reinstalled version 0.4.2 (which works nicely).

Thanks for writing Serviio. It is the only program which works nicely with my Samsung TV under OSX. Probably not the best place to write this but here are some suggestions to make it even better:

* The FF RW buttons don't seem to work. Same for resume-play and subtitles/audio tracks within mkv files.
* Automatic subtitle download. This would kick ass, after having a a dlna TV + serviio, this is the only thing I still have to do manually.
* It would be awesome to be able to play internet streaming content through the tv (flv files, youtube videos etc ...)

I was thinking about this a while back. OpenSubtitles have API and support movie hashing, so it could be quite precise. Might do that if there is enough demand for his.

* It would be awesome to be able to play internet streaming content through the tv (flv files, youtube videos etc ...)

Aiming to provide this for 0.6

This doesn't seem like a difficult feature to implement (especially considering that Serviio already scans the movie collection for tagging and obtaining screenshots/artwork). Is serviio's source-code available?

I am well aware about java bytecode being easy to decompile. I'm not sure if you are encouraging me to decompile the class files in the jars and modify serviio based on the resulting source code, but I didn't have any reverse engineering in mind. I was just asking if the full code was available somewhere, with comments, building system etc ...

Actually, the Eula is pretty explicit about reverse-engineering

  Code:
c. You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or modify the Software,
unless this is strictly for personal use or to debug such modifications.

One question - would in such a system search be possible - this would require user input, that is, communication from TV->Serviio?

D.

Probably not.
