Issues streaming to samsung blu ray since getting new router

I thought I would post a new post as ive tried an extraordinary amount of things already.

until now i had been using serviio just fine since about march or april. The only issue i had was having to wake up the computer before my blu ray player could see it - but thats on my computers end.

So since i got a new router, I went in and deleted the info from my old router, thinking that was all that would be necessary (and making sure the serviio server was running). This didnt work. The blu ray player can see the network of computers and i can go online... but no serviio. before trying serviio i initially tried samsung allshare, which worked, for about a week. then it turned into nothing but problems, which is where i found serviio. on my blu ray player though, it would see serviio as allshare with serviio in brackets. whichever - it worked.

now today, discovering that it doesnt work, ive tried everything i could think of.

ive disabled the firewall entirely, i restarted both items several times (serviio as well as full pc and blu ray player), i went through and re-set up the network on the serviio computers making sure file sharing was still allowed. it was, but it is still enabled now. i thought maybe that was enough of a refresh. nothing. restart both, nothing. tried samsung allshare again, it installed just fine but then immediate problems... however this saw the serviio on the same machine - figures. i even went through the new router looking for any possible settings restricting streaming, i cant find anything. i even set up the blu ray as a wps to make sure the router knew this was a safe connection. nothing. i tried using the pc under the administrator account - still nothing. while trying all this making sure that the network itself was fine, and it is, i can still go online on the blu ray.

i just dont know what else to do. my machine is xp and my serviio version is 1.4.1.2 (i believe), but this was true before when it was working just fine too.

These can be tricky. Firstly try:

  • Remove all the renderers from Serviio Console (Status tab);
  • If your BluRay has a option to remove Media Servers do that (clear all);
  • Press the refresh button on Serviio Console (Status tab)
Does the BluRay appear in the list. Does it now play?

If not:
  • post a detailed log and lets see if it sheds any light.
  • Has the connection method changed for the BluRay (was it wired, now wireless)?
  • Can you connect via wired/wireless and see if that works?
  • Can you put the old router back in and see if that works?
  • I presume you are only using the new router and the old router is completely removed - are you using any other networking devices (eg. a second router, or a switch)
  • What model is the new router?
