Did you leave enough time for the files to be indexed? You can check the log for a list of added files.

I'm sending you my logfile. I installed the program for the 4. time yesterday. It starts indexing files but stops before finishing.

Kind regards

There are some images added, I guess it's not all of them? Are they high resolution images?
Can you turn on detailed log and post it (after you run it for a while). Also can you keep an eye on how much memory Serviio takes?

I have tried to install it again. I'm sending logfiles to you. It seems that the files is not beeing indexed. After 9 min. Serviio stops indexing. I installed the program again just before 21:00 and it has stopped at 21:09:43. Now it is 21:27:00

That is not the detailed log (I don't need log4j.xml). Anyway, there is a lot of images added, are they not all?

No they are just a few of my photoes. I have hundreds of photoes. My photoes are in forlders named:
D:\Foto\Billeder\2002
D:\Foto\Billeder\2003
D:\Foto\Billeder\2004
D:\Foto\Billeder\2005
....... etc
The only folder I can see and who contains photoes is
D:\Foto\Billeder\2002
How do I make a detailed log? I tried making changes in log4j.xml
putting "Debug" in

<category name="org.serviio">
<priority value="Debug"/>
</category>

That is not correct I guess

you then need to restart the service (or the PC) to pick up the changes you made

I have done that. But it does not start indexing the files. I'm sending you my new logfile..

How do I make a detailed log?

Why does Serviio stops before all files is indexed?

This is how you enable the detailed log: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7

You should then see a lot of [DEBUG] lines in serviio.log.

Can you try leaving just 1 folder in your library (one that failed to be indexed) and see if the files are added? Also I assume the files are NOT on an external hard drive.

I have left just left 1 folder (2007) (one that failed to be indexed) and all the files are added.
Just now I have 2 folder (2007 and 2008) with files. I can see more folders but no files are added in the rest.

The files are NOT on an external hard drive.

The detailed logfile are very big 20.140 kb

Here is my detailed logfile attached.

Serviio stops indexing after one ore two folders with subfolders.

I'm sorry taking up your time, but your program seemed a h... lot better than the one from Samsung.

Can you tell me the size of some of these files (e.g.: D:\Foto\Mine billeder\2008\Mexico\Dag 16 den 9. mar\DSC_0326.JPG) and how many MPix they are? Also how much memory does ServiioService.exe process take when it stops adding new files.

Or even better, could you upload the picture for me to download somewhere? (PM me the location)

Ok, so I was able to reproduce this. Basically the image cannot be (for some reason) read properly by the image library I'm using and causes the update thread to die - that's why there are no more additions registered after this file. I 'fixed' it in my code (will skip files like this to be added into the library), in your case you'll have to remove the file in order to index the rest of your images.

Not sure if there will be more of pics like this, hopefully not.

Thank you for your kindness. Now I can watch my photoes on TV for the first time. Samsung cannot make the Samsung PC Share Manger work. I want to send you the last photoes making trouble. I'm sending them to you via your email 'zip@serviio.org'. I have used 2 diff. Canons making the photoes and there are 6 years between them.

kind regards

I'm sorry. To day a new problem is comming up. 2 days ago everythings was OK. But today this is happening (look at the attached file): Folders that could be seen are giving problems.
The folder from 2005\Tur til RĂ¼gen:
ARN [LibraryManager] Cannot read metadata of file D:\Foto\Mine billeder\2005\slideshov\DSC_0002.JPG via extractor EMBEDDED. Message: Could not read block (block start: 29624, block length: 8798, data length: 7784).

etc.

The folder from 2005\Slideshov

Yes, again some of your images include data that the image library doesn't like or recognize. It won't add the file but will try again when it looks for new files again, so you might end up with a lot of error messages in the log but all related only to a couple of images.

If you want the messages to stop appearing move the affected images outside of the shared folders. You could also open them in an image editing program and save again (you'll loose a tiny bit of quality but hopefully the image will be 'fixed')
