Wired connection not working Wireless OK

Can't seem to find a post regarding this issue, apologies if there is one.
I use a Samsung UE55H7000ST with Windows 7 PC and Serviio.
In wireless mode the TV connects and will play media from Serviio. There is some problems so would like to use a wired connection.
When in wired connection the TV can see some small folders but not the larger ones and cannot play more than 1 sec a minute! I have tested the cables and changed them, but notice that a Speedtest through the TV's web browser gives the same results as the PC and the You Tube app on the TV plays HD video with no problems.
Has anyone else seen anything like this? I am going to test changing the router next but as the TV/PC when wired can connect to the internet and stream from other sources I am not sure it will be the cause.
The Samsung has replaced a Sony TV which had no problems on wired previously. I was tempted to think the TV was at fault but as it can play You Tube and Catch Up TV through wired I can't see how it could be. The PC has been changed since the Sony TV but Wireless is working.
