when using F5700 blue ray player with either generic profile or e/f profile dates displayed are always 01/01/1970. Any clues on how to tweak a profile to resolve?
Thank you

I don't think the profile has anything to do with it. I believe it's a firmware bug from Samsung. None of my Samsung TVs or the BD player displays the correct date. My BD player (H5900) also shows Jan 1 1970 for every video, although if you use the Tools menu and look at the Information the correct release date is shown, so the player does know where to find the correct date in the database.

As far as cover art, my BD player doesn't show them either, but both TVs do. Again, It's a Samsung issue, not Serviio.

What about dates of images and audio files (albums)?

Created a ticket: https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... es-as-1970

Can you post an image of where it appears so?

Yep, that's what my H series BD looks like too. The HU8550 TV has dates all over the place, some like this and some 100 years in the future :o . Not a clue where Samsung is getting the information.

Zip, I don't have any media except video, so can't say if it would be any different. I do have some MP3s I can put on the server, so I'll enable that and see what they say.

Zip, I can't get the Samsung H series BD player to even list anything under Music. The only folders listed are the video folders, and of course since there's no music in those folders it comes back blank.

The HU8550 TV displays the MP3s, but shows no date information. So, can't make a comparison with the video presentation. Looks like Samsung needs to work on their GUI.

I assume it works with the AllShare software from Samsung?

I tried their Allshare software, and think it's worthless. All it lets you do is "cast" the video from the computer to the TV. I didn't see any way to browse the videos from the TV, so my experience with it is minimal.

The Samsung devices all seem to have under the tools menu an Information screen, which shows the video and audio codecs, run time, and release date. In almost all cases, the release date listed here is accurate. Why the browse screen shows the wrong date (in the BD player case, just like the picture he posted shows, every one of them is Jan 1, 1970), I have no idea.

For my TV, same issue, although the dates are not all identical. A few are accurate, some are a past date or near future, and some are over 100 years in the future :o . How they figure the movie was released in 2119 is anyone's guess!

Ideally we need to find a server that does this right and compare with the UPnP browse responses they produce.
Does Plex work?

Ok - I'll need a Wireshark sniff from the Plex browse response. If you can capture the packets and attach it here, it'd be awesome.

I just got a Samsung BD player this week and having the same "no music" issue, running Serviio 1.5.2 on Debian.

I can sniff the conversation, but should it be between the Samsung and Plex, or Serviio? Both?
